After registering, I waited to be called back to the pre op area and an employee came to get me after a short wait. I also dont understand why Ascension has employees who make patients do the work they should be doing. Or, at least provide me with a tablet to use. I dont understand why these forms werent provided to me ahead of my surgery date so I could fill them out using the same computer Im using right now. I got through it though after a lot of anxiety and frustration. The only thing I had to use was my cell phone and the connection to the Ascension web site was poor. An employee who was sitting at the desk said shed send me a text with a link to the Ascensions web site so I could fill out forms to register. Heres why: When I arrived at Ascension the morning of my surgery, I was directed to a work station for registration. I had outpatient surgery at Ascension 10 days ago and it wasnt a good experience. Im also writing this to warn other patients who may have a choice where they go for procedures so they go somewhere else. I am writing this review to hopefully get the attention of management for Ascension Seton Hays so they can make much needed improvements. Thank you Ascension Seton Hays staff and the EMTs that brought me to you! The staff cares and does their best, in my humble opinion anyway. They also cant control the condition of the facilities so Im not going to address any of that here in this review. They really do care and strive to take the best care of you. Still, he did take time to listen to me and talk to me and I understand they have a lot going on at the moment (with COVID and all) not to mention they are ER doctors.Overall I was extremely satisfied with my visit, as well as the EMTs that brought me by ambulance. They listened to me, were compassionate, empathetic, understanding and made sure I was comfortable and satisfied with the level of care I received and that I had all the information I needed to have some peace of mind and feel comfortable going home. The only issue I had, and it was minor, was with the ER doctor who seemed a bit rushed or not very interested in hearing my whole sob story (which is long) related to why I was there. The nursing and ER staff were amazing to me and did everything they could to ensure I was comfortable and well taken care of during my short stay. Staff, Doctors, Nurses, ER, X-Ray, Respiratory Techs, Front desk, Maintenance, Cafeteria workers and ALL the countless other workers for the wonderful experience. Thank You 🙏 to ALL the Ascension hospital Kyle, TX. But sometimes our selfishness gets in the way and we don’t see it. And if you just had a little patience with the hospital workers they would’ve taken care of you too.As a matter of fact, I do know for a fact that the health care workers did take care of you and your loved one. There are all these other patients that keep coming in through the hospital and ER. Sometimes we just need to take a step back and realize that we are not the only one these folks are caring for. It saddens me to read some of the selfish posts. They worked endlessly! They worked hard!! They were here, they were there and everywhere in the hospital all throughout the day and night. These amazing people did not stop for a minute. going back and forth none stop attending to their patients. During those 4 days I observed the entire Staff of doctors, nurses, ER, etc. I was hospitalized and had to stay for 4 days. But despite the fact of how busy the hospital was I had a very good experience with the entire Staff at Ascension Seton Medical Center, Kyle, TX location. The hospital itself was really really busy with patients. I was rushed to the ER after feeling really ill right after being tested positive for Covid.
